I bought me a lathe for a good price, bought me a drill press for a good price, and got me a belt sander for even a better price (free). Someone spraypainted my neighbors fence. Well she moved and can't repair/ clean it. So I told her that if she pays for the sander, I will do the work. All I am lacking now is a workbench that I think I am gonna get for fathers day.

Well, I broke down and actually bought a table. I got it assembled, got the drill press assembled, got everything ready, started to bolt the lathe to the table, and the tail stock is about 6" too long.

I think I am going to try to but a foot off the end of the tail stock and then I should be good. But it looks like I have to wait another week.

What kind of lathe is that? It sure looks alot easier to clean around than mine. But then again mines 50 years old.

My Dad gave it to me a few years ago when he replaced his. I cleaned it all up and it works great. It's got the old brass bushings and it still has no slop. It is from Sears and Roebuck. It was made in 1951 and it cost $39.95 new. It cost $49.95 if you wanted the motor with it. It's not a Jet, but it was free!
