Took to the river today. Boy was it a hot sumbitch out there.

It took a while for us to get things figured out, just couldn't get a hit to save our lives, and then it went from not getting any hits to not getting anything landed.
Rick had a thing for floating frogs today and was casting into some really thick lily pads.  :laf: I can't even remember how many fish he lost because the line kept breaking.
One of them he reared back to set the hook, and got a bunch of slack line back in his face with no lure on the end. :argh:

He setting there bitching when we see a real nice bass jump right where he just lost this last one. We both kinda look at each other :confused:
Couple minutes later what appears to be the same fish, jumps again. We both look at each other. :huh:
About the third time of that Rick says, get us over us over there, that's my fish and he's hung up with my lure and about three feet of line in those lily pads :laf: :iroll: ...so away we go and were like setting right on top of it with a dip net when it tries to jump and free himself again...Rick scoops him up with the net, looks at the frog in his mouth and chuckles.  :eyebrownod:

Shortly before that he's casting away with his big ole rubber frogs, not looking behind him where yours truly has been for the last several hours casting away, and he catches the tip of my pole on his forward motion of what could have been a 1/4 mile cast with the bog ole rubber frog. :laf:
All we heard was a whoooooosh and then a nice crisp clicking sound. Rick's pole followed through with the cast but the line started sagging and floating in the breeze and drifted to the waters surface completely weight free.  :roflmao: He looks up in the air in the direction he was casting and watches his big ole rubber frog get smaller and smaller as it flies through the air away from us about 40 feet in the air, in a nice slow earth bound curve. :eyebrownod:

"We gotta go find that he says, that's a $6 dollar frog.  :sad3:
We never did find it by the way.

All in all we had a pretty good day despite the rough start. We both landed numerous bass, and I caught the biggest wallleye I've ever caught, 23". Man she was a pure BEAUT!.
Rick's got the pics on his camera, be sure to look at the blood running off my hands, it mine, the thing almost...almost :innocentwhistle: kicked my aaaaaas literally.

Maybe a cold beer to go along with the fish?  Just a suggestion, you don't really have to drink one.   ;yes;
