well fellas I rolled the rinny today for the first time.  I started up a hill climb and once at the top the right front hit a rock.  bounced the front up and kicked it to the left.  as it rolled I looked over my shoulder and checked the downside of the hill.  no tree.  I tried to bail but no way.  four wheeler landed on me twice.  then rolled down the hill for about 60 or so yds.  damage report.  rinny one bent right front rim.  broke fender bent handle bars broke pod two bent racks.  Bigben  one heck of a sore knee and a few scuffs and bruises.  had my helmet on and you can tell it hit ground hard.

if I say "let's see if we can make it" stop me next time.

Yep, and the kids get mad when they have to take a safety course in order to operate them.
Sounds like you made it out lucky

This wasn't your normal roll over that's for sure.  This area is nothing but rocks, I'm still shaking my head that Ben nor his quad were not out of commisson.

Ben you're a lucky guy a tough one at that.  I'm glad your still sucking air and will be able to ride another day.

I do gotta tell ya though it was cool watching your $7,000 Rincon roll down the hill bouncing off of rocks and stumps. :laf:

no kiddin, glad we can view the video and you sitting there breathing.  Take it easy man !!  Thats too many hours of workin your hind end off to pay for that toy, you're gonna need it more this fall/winter !!

bigben

tell ya the first thing I thoght was damn I got a 7000 dollar fourwheeler that looks like it is 10 years old now.  I am glad bootmud and some other friends were there.  lookin back I did make it out lucky.  the fourwheeler probably sustained about a 1000 dollars of damage depending on what I get replaced.  the pod that got broke is the most expensive at 250 dollars.  the racks can be bent again and fender that is broke has the camo peeling so the panels should get replaced at no cost.  now the bumps and bruises in other places are showing up.  I got a red mark goin from under my left part of my chest to my sternum thank god no broke ribs.  and on both shoulders I got imprints of stuff.  I rode over my head and shouldn't of tried it.  I guess the only thing I can do not is bend the racks back along with the wheel and fix the pod and handle bars.  takereasy for a bit and invest in stock with advil.  mom said aren't ya gonna go to the emergency room.  nope I know it aint nothing but sore muscles.

boot
hope you guys had a better day then I did.  I got back to the truck and just sat in the front seat for a few minutes just taking it easy.  gonna be hurtin tommarow.

It sounds like you are lucky to be around to post.  Not in the hospital or the funeral home, and those are both good things.

I've got to second Jerry's sentiments. You have been extended some grace from God.  :whew:

I know you are messin around, I was also.

Yup I know the feeling, back when I rode a 400EX I had it out the first time and climbed this steep hill. At the top was some big roots from a pine tree. I hit those and went into a wheely. I couldn't save it and over backwards I went. I bailed and hit the ground and put my feet up expecting to try to stop the quad. Well it rolled right past me and landed at the base of the tree. My buds thought I was done for!

The only thing that happened is that my handle bars where off center. My big muscle bound friend  cranked them back for me.

I have rolled the POLARIS on the frozen lake a couple of times.

I try not to ride past my ability, I have two babies that depend on me to bring home $ for food, and plus getting hurt HURTS!!!!

Glad your ok Ben.

Ben,
I'm glad you weren't hurt worse than what you were. A few years ago my neighbor's 13 year old daughter was killed when a ATV she was riding flipped and rolled back on her.

You were lucky !!!

Glad you're still young enough to bounce pretty well  Ben!

allright fellas I got the front rack straightened. it was pretty much just pushed over to the one side and a little humped. about a quarter of a inch. heck it coulda been that way from the factory. got the meter glued and zip ties are holding it in place till it cures. the handle bars are pretty much fine. I thought they were bent more but since the pod was screwed up I could not really tell. I pulled the left side up about a half inch and pushed down the right about a half inch. I do got to loosen the left brake lever and rotate that up a few degrees too. only thing left is to take off the pod after the glue has dried and glue up the cracks and then reassemble the pod. the back rack needs tweaked a bit and the front wheel is not bent side to side like I originally thought. only a flat spot and it is rolled in a bit and it is throwing the side wall out. so in two weeks hopefully I will be ready to hit it again.

thanks for the well wishs.  lookin back I can say I am glad that I am still here.  I have cheated death twice now in my life and I can only thank the god lord.  the first time was on a bycycle and was going down the back side of a moutian which is pretty much a down hill grade one mile length of road in the scouts.  got to the bottom and tried to pedal a bit and when I did my foot slipped off.  causing me to swerve till I endoed it and a handle bar actually penetrated my abdomen.  they went into surgery saying that I had a 50% chance which means they really where not sure and if I did live it would be a long road to recovery because of taking out major organs.  docs came out after a hour and mom thought they lost me.  they said every thing was fine and nothing was hurt.  ever since then mom has said I have somethin or someone lookin after me.  I hope it is the big man in the sky.

What no duct tape  What kind of redneck are you anyway :doh2:

Glad to hear your alright Ben. I'm even happier to hear you had a helmet on. I've known to many people get seriously injured or killed because they thought it wasn't cool to wear a helmet. It drives me nuts when I see kids riding those things without protection.

Hope you're back in the saddle again soon,
Steve
