bushmaster's recent posts about his new .338 Win. Mag. got me wondering what other big rifles FnF members might have. So let's see 'em.    Here's mine:

Voere Titan II in .375 H&H Mag.

Leupold vari-x II 1 X 4 with EAW quick detachable swing mounts

300 grain Winchester silvertip next to a 55 grain .223

It doesn't get a lot of use. I shot a deer with it in 1992 and a moose in 1997 and haven't shot it since! I'm tempted to drag it to the range again just for grins.

coyote101,

Are you typically shooting the 300gr. Winchester Silver Tips on game? If so, how did it perform on your Moose?

FOsteology,

I bought that rifle in Germany in 1985 and have only killed two animals with it. I shot a deer with a 270 grain round nose soft point quartering away at about 50 yards. The bullet entered behind the right shoulder and exited the left side of the neck. He dropped in his tracks because of the neck wound. The damage to the meat was much less than I typically get from a .308 because the .375 bullets are so heavily jacketed for use on larger animals.  I shot the moose with the Silvertip standing broadside at about 125 yards. The bullet entered behind the right shoulder and exited behind the shoulder on the opposite side and was not recovered. He ran about fifty yards after being shot, stood still for several seconds and then dropped. Although I didn't recover the bullet, I would have to say it performed flawlessly. I know there were some problems with the .375 H&H Silvertips when they first came out, but I think Winchester worked them out. I have some 235 grain Speer bullets loaded up, but I have never shot anything with them.  What has been your experience with .375 H&H loads?

coyote101,

I had my .375H&H built when I returned from Africa in 2005. So, as of date I have only used it on a few exotics (axis deer and fallow), and feral hogs. Mine shoots the original 300gr. TBBC extremely well, and of course has put the hurt on everything! Heading back across the pond next summer with my son, and not sure if I'll take the H&H or the 9.3x62

I really like the 9.3x62. Loaded up with 286gr. Nosler Partitions it's right on the heels of the H&H, and honestly, don't think the game I would hunt with either cartridge would discern the difference..... but my shoulder and arms sure do! The felt recoil is less with the 9.3x62 and the rifle is lighter. I much prefer toting the 'ol metric rifle around!

BTW, where in Germany? I was in Karlsruhe from 1981 thru 1985.

They are fantastic looking rifles.  I just don't think my sholder would last when I go out to shoot a hundred or so rounds.

Recoils not bad.... aside from the Lott.

Actually, my shoulder is fine, it's my neck that begins to hurt and I get an awful headache after a few rounds with the Lott.

The big boomers kick a little harder than I like so I only own one. This is a pre 64 Winchester 70 in 375 H&H in a McMillan camo stock.

Life's tough, it's tougher if you're a nasty, fat, unemployable, drunk, socialist. To say nothing of the fact you are an embezzler.

Hey FOs: How about a closeup of the game scenes on the double rifle.

FOsteology

Due to the case color my camera is not able to pick up the game scene with any detail.
