Thumbing through the Cabela's Ad tonight.

Just what exactly is the difference between the Mossberg 835 Camo Comba and the 535 Camo Combo?
Both are 3 1/2, both come with two barrels.

The 835 is about $30 more.

The actual difference is that the 835 barrel is overbored about .070 inch. It's supposed to improve patterns and reduce recoil. Most test don't show much of a difference, but it looks good in the advertisement. :wo:
The 535 is a standard bore.

Here's an explanation...

If you shoot smaller shot sizes Like a dove load..........through a turkey choke.......there seems to be a bit of a difference but I cant really say there is anything else that I have noticed.
I seem to go to my old 500 with the poly choke and a longer barrel more these days.

Another factor, Jim, is that you cannot shoot slugs through the 835 "overbored" barrel.  But you can through the 535 barrel.  The overboring could cause wobbling of the slug as it travels down the barrel.

I think the 835 might have a different material in the stock also but don't know for sure.

They do make a slug barrel for it but I do not like it :rolleye:
