Aerial maps

I am looking for some help with the aerial maps feature. All I am getting is a blank screen.

Ok, to start off, visit this site http://maps.google.com/ and let us know if the map shows up for you there.

Yes sir the maps on that sight come up in about 3 seconds.

Ok....you running any antivirus? And if so what brand?

My daughter say's I'm using micro trend.

I was hoping I could tell you to simply add FinsandFur.net to the anti virus safe list since the map functions on Java script.

But after a little more looking into things this just seems to be another great malfunction of the wonderful Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Laymans terms;  Microsoft Internet Explorer does not know how to render the code.

I haven't used Microsoft Internet Explorer for years, I actually had to go get it and install it to to see if the Aerial Maps showed up for me with it. They didnt.

My suggestion, lose the Internet Explorer and install FireFox.

• It's free
• It's a whole lot faster then Internet Explorer
• It's sooooo much more secure then Internet Explorer
• and there are tons of free add-ons available to make your surfing or work a whole lot easier.

No prob, let me know what ya need.
It's actually real easy though.
Just visit the link, click the download button, saving it to your computer. When it's downloaded, double click the icon that it has created which runs the installation automatically.

I have fire fox now and it works a whole lot nicer and the Aerial Maps pop right up

And If I can install fire fox anyone can do it

I downloaded Fire Fox several months ago, after experiencing numerous problems with IE . Since then I've not had any trouble.

I know how to turn this computer thing on but that's about it

One more thing I like about Fire Fox is how simple it is to change viewable text size. Go to "tools", click "options"... a window will open. Click "content", scroll down to fonts (your ABC's, for us southern folk) and colors, click on "size". From there you can select how large or small to make your ABC's.

If I install the firefox will that interfer with the internet explorer I already have been using, or can both systems be used?

Both can still be used. But it will be real tough to use both at the same time.
It'd kinda be like driving both cars to the grocery store at the same time.

And I seriously doubt that once you use Firefox you will want to keep using Internet Explorer. It's just so much better, easier and safer.

If I install firefox will I loose any of my bookmarks, or favorites that I have saved with int. explorer? And will fox fire not work for some programs that Int. explorer does work for?

You can import all your bookmarks to Firefox, right through Firefox, it's real simple since they offer the option.

As far as certain programs working with Internet Explorer and NOT Firefox, there's really no such thing. Actually Firefox works with more scripts then Internet Explorer.
