For the second time in a little over a week OPEC is cutting production. Couple that with the fact that Obama said he would suspend going forward with offshore drilling and what do you have?

Coming soon to a pump near you.

$140 A BARREL AGAIN!!! I SUPPOSE THAT'S BUSH'S FAULT TOO???

:argh: :doh2: :madd:

Dumb thinking, actually thinking BUSH could control oil prices. Stupid!!!!

Crude is right around $60 right now, and "almost" made it down to 59 and change today.  They'll have to find someone else to blame when the supply is shut off again in order to drive prices back higher.  Of course, the new administration will never blame OPEC. :rolleye:

We had 6 Saudi's join the forum in the middle of the night :pout:

I wonder if this topic got Googled that fast or if their on their way over to help celebrate the election.

Sometimes I wonder if these hunting forums aren't a source of Intel for govt operatives.  I have read a lot more intelligent commentary on the true state of the economy and the real mood of the nation on these boards, than I EVER read/heard from the MSM.

BTW, crude dropped under $60 this morning.

4 more Saudi's tried to join since my last post. :nono:

I turned off the new member automatic registration and will be manually passing them through now

No burgers  No chocolate chip cookies  No lobster  No nachos  No Beer nuts No
Beer !!!!!!!! Rags for clothes and towels for hats. Constant wailing from the
guy next-door because he's sick and there are no doctors. Constant wailing
from the guy in the tower.  More than one wife.  You can't shave.  Your wives
can't shave.  You can't shower to wash off the smell of donkey cooked over
burning camel dung.  Your bride is picked by someone else. She smells just
like your donkey. Then they tell you that when you die it all gets better!

I mean, really, is there a mystery here?

Maybe they really want to become mountain men with all the bell's and whistle's.

On the PLUS side, I paid $1.93 for gas last night.  Even though prices are getting back to "normal", I don't think they'll stay there.  Our tolerance levels have been tested by OPEC and Wall Street, and now they know how far they can push us before we start pushing back.  Expect $2.50 to become the new "norm".

cathryn

the only reason gasoline at the pump went down is because the overall economy went to crap not because of anythoing we as consumers did.

if the economy hadnt went bust wed still be paying 3 + bucks a gallon for gasoline. imo

do you guys even realize that Canada is the top importer of crude oil to the US?

The economy has been going down hill for a year and it that time gas prices kept climbing.

What happened that started gas to start coming down?

Bush started talking about lifting the ban on off shore drilling. That helped the market some. We saw almost an immediate .20 cent drop when that happened.

Then the press just kept telling us the economy was getting worse, so what did we do? We quit driving as much. Oh sure we still went to our jobs and such, but we didn't go a lot of other places that we might normally have went just for fun. That lessened demand.

The rest of the worlds economies have been tanking as well including China. Since china is getting to be one of the BIG BOYS this lessened the demand for crude as well.

It's just like anything else having to do with economics. It's a supply and demand thing. So we as consumers did indeed impact the gas prices, we just didn't do it on purpose.
