I would like to see the feet of your coyotes one front and one Rear so we can see the differences in them.
Also have you trappers ever looked at the front feet of a coyote closely? Some are right pawed and some are left........I am serious and it can help you with your trapping.......
This is a road killed coyote that showed up in my yard today...Young Male.......

Rear Paw.......

Front Paw...

I think we could learn a lot from looking at the differences
Please feel free to comment and share........

Not at all fellas.........if we look at different feet from different coyotes......I believe you will find there are different shapes and sizes.........So when looking at tracks we will know for sure, the things you hear from folks like is his back feet larger than his front? and if so is it different from females to males?  If he is right pawed does that make him right eye dominant? If so should I set up for all those left eye dominant dogs I have been missing?..... :laf:
Are all their feet oval shaped or are some round if some round are found were they females or pups?
These are things I would like to know but have never seen enough of to find out for myself.
 We have sprayed urine on our stuff.....but we over look details? I just want to know more

Don't you think coyotes are a bit like humans.  We have six people in the house tonight and six sizes of boot's.

sizes yes....It is the shapes and the wear of the toenails as well as fur or lack of between the toes that will tell the tale......also the difference in the front and rear toenail wear and shape...... No one seems to really know if they are looking at a coyote track or not......But have we studied the foot that makes them or just said yea I have seen em
Ever had bait taken from a dirt hole set with the trap set a little to the right? Only to move it to the left and Bam! caught one.
I have......and I tell ya I think there is more to learn here.

Some people might not be able to but I was taught how to track by a man that could tell if the deer a coyote was trailing, had a drop tine and which side :innocentwhistle:.

I keep bringing it up jimbo......so I can learn.......I probably had a poor choice of words there. But I am constantly asked what they look like and then my answer is questioned....so I am just wanting to know more.
I have had coyote tracks that I was sure of... questioned.........and I have had what I knew were dog tracks called coyote...
