theres been alot of debate around herealocally  as to whether we have weasels in our neck of the woods. Its been years since anyone locally has caught or seen one in my area, least to the best of my knowledge.

the kids and i went for a drive tonight and had an interesting find.this weasel alongside the road.

i stopped and picked it up because it was hard to believe what id found , especially when most everyone here says theyre gone now.

we had em years ago cause my grandma had em killin her chickens and she set some rats traps for them and caught a few one year when i was young.

seems like the mystery is now solved, least for Jackson county.
we do have weasels at least in one area thats about 12 miles from my house.

i realize these animals have little value for their pelts because they dont change white here but it was an interesting find none the less.

Still a few weasles around. Used to see one every whipstitch when I was a kid. Not too many these days. I did see a mink one night a couplle of months ago.

A whip stitch is a loop stitch. They are longer and spaced farther apart than regular stitches. So...an event that doesn't happen very often, but is not uncommon either, happens every whip stitch. Might be a regional thing, but I've heard that cliche' since I was a kid.

a whipstitch is the same as saying once in a great while.

i sent the weasel off to Moyles to be tanned along with a cinnamon coon and a real nice western coyote.

itll be a few months till i get em back but im lookin forward to seeing how they turn out this year. i was very satisfied with their work last year.
