Belden Brick Co. is having a big lay off also.They will be laying off a few 100 workers and they have already approved the 13 week extension for unemployment,and told most of the workers that will run out before they start calling anyone back

Actually I've been off since the 26th of June

We get a full week paid every year over the 4th of July.
Dont have to go back until the 7th

Nope, but I do have the 4th off, 1st time in 13yrs !!!

I usually volunteer any and every holiday for the pay but this weekend I want to relax.

Yep, I get Friday off and its a paid day off too

I am using my time wisely and going to a job interview for a security position. I'm not sure if the pay will be quite what I need to leave my present job, but its worth a shot

I've had all week off - we got told to take two weeks off between June and the end of August. They were pretty flexible, and left it up to us to take the time whenever it fit best in our schedules. Two week temporary layoffs to help save some money for the company. The no pay part sucks, but I am enjoying the extra "vacation" time. I get two extra weeks to do whatever I want, whenever I want, and I am lovin every minute of it. Sometimes the extra time off is worth it for the mental rehab, even though there isn't the pay part.

No I worked pretty much from 5am until now 11.12pm but I'm my own Boss so I ain't going to kick the tar out of me
