does the sitre load slow for you?

it does for me and always has.

i am on a dial up connection so that could be it i guess BUT  other sites i frequent are not delayed when i open them..

i just wondered if it was just my backwoods connection or if it was a problem others on here have encounterted.

Seriously though, I think Al has issues down there too from time to time. I dont know what it would be unless it was something between the ISP's down there and our forum software, since you said it's only this site.

We have switched servers three times, and now I own my own server, so I doubt it's a server issue. Especially since you said, "it does for me and always has".

I just ran a speed check on iwebtool.com and they said the site was being delivered in 9/100's of a second.

If you are using Explorer.....get rid of it....Fire fox is AWESOME......and much quicker.

The site is running slow for me today too. I'm also on dial up (Bell South).  When loading time is slow I have found that sometimes it helps to log off and back onto my ISP.  Maybe it's a dial up routing thing?
I know where you are coming from when you say backwoods dial up. It's all we can get here, at the moment anyway. No DSL cable and our mountains block the cell phone towers so wireless cards don't work well either.

On the other hand, even with dial up, Firefox seems to be much faster than IE.

thanks guys. i tried to open the link and the page wont load before it times out.
been doing that since yesterday.

coyote, we have no way of getting DSL or the cable hookups so i know exactly where youre coming from.

i looked into Hughes Net and couldnt afford the 90.00 a month its cost me. not sure what it is now but imk sure its still expensive.

If Firefox's page times out before it loads, then it's clearly on your end.
They are going to be running servers that'll peel bananas from 200 yards.

thats true in alot of things,imo.

i couldnt get the firefox browser t load so ill have to try one night when im going to bed.

see if itll download overnight, thats bout all i can do.
