I'm in Libby Montana and me, the boys and Ed are driving out to a dam to fish for Kokanee Salmon when Ed says Turkey :shck:  I immediately and with great precision Slam on the brakes,[I better give some credit here to the driving awareness of the people behind me who managed to not take me out] turn to the right and narrowly miss a stop sign on an approach out of a boat launch area and spin the vehicle around so I could see this.

Ed ain't too impressed to say the least but the boys and I were :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo: as we saw our first wild turkeys.   Now I'm really pissed with my state of the art turkey calls at home and wanting to call them.  When with Bob standing outside the van I hear a hen type cluck from the back seat.  Donny the ever resourseful person he is has made a turkey sound with

Looks like this open

I say get over to the open door and make that baby talk.  He did and them dang hens up with their heads and really paid attention to him :shck:  That was about the coolest thing I've seen today besides the three bull moose, Huckleberries, Salmon Berries, scenery to take your breathe away and my first caught Kokanee Salmon.

I say what I think not think what I say.

Glad ya finally got to see one, Barry.   :yoyo:

Now just imagine sitting quietly in the woods on a cool spring morning, well before daylight, waiting for the dawn.  As daylight makes it entry, you hear a booming gobble not 100 yards away up in the trees. You picked the right spot, your heart starts to pound and the game is on!   :yahoo:

You got to try it sometime, Barry.   :thumb2:

Jim that there is SliderzCandy dispenser and when he opened it a certain way it made sounds very much like a hen turkey.  I'm thinking we maybe shoulddn't let word of this get out to far as it may hurt turkey call sales

I take it that wild turkeys are somewhat like the tame ones then?  Mandy and I were under a truck working on a steady bearing one day and  she let out an expletive that kinda/sorta shocked me as I could see her hands and they weren't getting pinched   I looked over and here was one of the 3/4 grown turkeys with earing stub in a turkey beak and her ear was stretched out about a foot she was thinking :madd:.
Me and mouth got us invited out to a fellers place tomorrow for a supper of wild turkey, morel mushrooms and some other delicacy I can't remember exactly what all is in it. :yoyo: :yoyo: :yoyo:

Barry,

Be careful there are a couple of types of Wild Turkey in the states - one you eat and one you drink.

And the one you drink is made right here in Lawrenceburg, Kaintuckee.

I take it the second wild turkey is for those of you who miss the first one   Thanks for the warning but I'm more afraid of your banks as they seem to be one of the better rip off artists :argh:  The credit Union here wanted 5% to cash travelers cheques and I guess I sorta/kinda lost it again as I was pissed :shck:   The grocery store next door did it for free :yoyo:
