A couple weeks a noticed that the barrel on my fairly newly acquired Crosman 1322 22cal air pistol was rotating.
Typically...not a big deal for a non rifled barrel, you'd think. And since the thing is a tack driver over and over...they must be aware of it and knowingly it causes no accuracy issues.
I dunno
I have a laser on mine and since there is no metal breech, there is no place to mount a scope or a laser. Which means that special brackets are needed to clamp it to the barrel. And yea...now we notice that the barrel can be freely rotated from side to side. See whats happening here?

I find it very very hard to believe it was like that from the git go. One would HAVE to notice this when mounting the laser itself, wouldnt ya think? None the less, the gun still zeros, naturally I try to make sure the laser isnt setting sideways on the barrel as the result of the rotating barrel, when I do shoot it, and havent missed yet.

I can see it making NO DIFFERENCE on any gun without a barrel mounted scope or laser.
Me and Nastygunz discussed this a little bit in private message days before I actually discovered what I'm about to show ya's, but first I wanted to ask you nasty...is the scope you have on your 1377 barrel mounted? or does that have the metal breech?
In my eyes, and maybe I'm a little sideways, (no pun intended)  (ok...that was fully intended)..if the barrel rotates and it has a barrel mounted laser or scope on it, the whole trajectory intersection is off.

Someone else decided the same thing :eyebrow: Look what I did find.

These replace the plastic barrel band on the business end of the guns, and they have a set screw inside which tightens to hold the barrel tube in place.

Hellllllllfire!..For quite a bit cheaper than that, you can use the steel breech which also has a set screw and Mount all kinds of optics on it. Those do look pretty cool but not for that price! I also think the barrel on tthe 1322 and 1377 is rifled. I have the barrel mount and laser on my 1322 like you do. I have the steel breach and red dot scope on my 1377 and they're both deadly.

nastygunz

The red dot scope works excellent in any kind of light conditions. The laser also works well except in a longer distance and in bright sunlight.

FinsnFur

So you do have steel breeches on both? I wondered about that.
Yeah the laser is tough to see in the sun but when you can see it...it's literally a tack driver.

I thought $50 was cheap for the tricked out barrel band. Whats a steel breech cost? Which one is less destructive to install?

The arent cheaper then the barrel bands by the time you adding shipping. Holy crap those guys really tack it on. :holdon:

I hopped over to Pyramyd Air which is where I bought the gun and laser.

Not a whole lot cheaper but easier to justify.  So I ordered one.
There was a note on the order form saying the breeches were SOLD OUT! I had to laugh, people stocking up on these too?
And apparently they are getting more in on the 19th of this month, which is when this one will ship. We'll see.

Glad to see you using an Ohio company, but I may need to contact Pyramyd Air since it looks like the person that sent you your shipping notice might have some problems.

Yeah he had too much coffee :laf:
I actually bought the pistol through Pyramyd Air. They have been great through the whole thing so far. Well actually it was Amazon, but via Pyramyd Air.

Is the report from a 1322 and/or 1377 any softer than your standard air rifle?  Why I ask is that we have pigeons in the new neighborhood and they need to go.  My air rifle is kinda loud.   Also Amazon has them for 58 and 54 bucks - good price?
When they come for mine they better bring theirs

FinsnFur

Yep, I bought mine for $54.95 if I remember right.
