I ain't done much shooting the past few years but this year[until Dec 15th] I plan on shooting a few.  I/we[wife and I] dug spuds today and after picking them up I had about an hour of daylight to try for one[want to see if their hides is ready].  Took Spike[the dog] and Jimmie[the KY] with to the first stand.  Blew a series of calls and Spike[the dog] laid down 20 feet behind e and never moved for 10 minutes.  At about the 10 minute mark a large female came within range[70 yds] and promptly died[did I say I ain't dared shoot the gun for a few years and she still shot where I pointed :yoyo:],  on the way home I got within a mile of the house and saw a big dog out in the field disguising himself as a hawk.  I wasn't fooled for a moment as I knew it was a coyote when it started running. :nofgr:   At the sound of the gun he laid over nicely so now I gotta skin 2 after supper to see how the hides are coming along. Camera's SD card was in the computer so just imagine one or two of my old pics[you've been along on both places ].

What a great way to kill an hour.  Nice shooting Barry!  Those coyotes look pretty furred up.  Might be the start of a long cold Winter.

Those are BIG coyotes compared to anywhere I've hunted them, which would be from Southern California to northern BC.  One of the biggest I've killed was almost on the  Alberta line however, so I'd surmise that they get bigger over your way.

Good start and some good shooting.

I'm not sure if ours are bigger but I know the only ones we've killed over 50lbs came from within a mile of the house.  I always think the coyotes South of me are larger but the scales never agree. :wo:

Must be something in the water around your place:  big spuds, big carrots, big coyotes.  How big are your kids? :laf:

riverboss

Sounds like one heck of a hour!

58 and still got two kids playing high school football.

Went up to watch the geese yesterday morning and decided to watch them from the West side looking out here.

So with Braz feeling like he wanted to call, I let him and this little girl who musta been sick of being bitch slapped by a kazillion geese came charging in on ly to get Ruger slapped.

On the way outta the field I had to pass[not really but I could ] this old house.

With the wisest of the wise living there.
