I have made wingbone calls and I know what needs to be done ...and when I get more time........I will show ya what I mean

Jimmie, I like the sounds that come from a cane trumpet. They sound really good. Here's a Third Ridge Yelper made out of cane that I got from Irving Whitt. It's a sweet talker.

And here are a couple more examples of trumpet yelpers.

This is another from Irving Whitt, made out of African Blackwood with an ivory mouthpiece.

This one is from Dad's Custom Calls made by Jerry White. It's a desert ironwood with an ivory mouthpiece.

So you know Irving Whitt, Ben?

He's a very eccentric individual, and has some unbelievable talent when it comes to this stuff. I mean unbelievable!.

I've spent many hours on the phone with Irving.

Those have to be hte finest examples of the call makers art I have even seen bar none. Now its a little more understandable when I hear rumors of trumpets going for several hundreds of dollars.

And I apreciate the pics of the cane calls. I now have a better idea of sizes for the diferent parts. Jimmie

Well that did it

The wife heard me listening to the call and came over to see what I was doing. Showed her these most excellent call's on this thread and now I'm not the only one's ancestry that has come into qauestion in this house. She thought the call's were gorgeous but the part where I want some did illicit some remark's that shouldn't be put down in print.
If I should go missing in action you now know for what reason.
