I've been watching tons of hunts on tv, had the calls out a time or two. Sure am getting the spring itch. I think ours is 2 months from this Saturday.
I'm bringin the 7 yr old on a youth mentored hunt. 3inch .410 6 shot @ 15yds baby !!:wink:
Should be another exciting fun year, always is

I've been perusing the Cabelas site & some others looking for a new turkey vest. I had about $200 left from the Red Bird trip & I'm looking to spend it.

Its a Mossy Oak 3-D Elite vest. It has lots of pockets and is light weight. My old vest was 20 years old and flat wore out so I picked up one of these. I don't think you'll find a better price for that vest anywhere.

It looks like it will be a difficult season for me. Right now I only have permission to hunt on two properties.

P.S. I watched over 50 on the one property and I saw the other property owner and he said that he counted over 40 between his house and the woods.

I really should be in pretty good shape - assuming that I can get the time to go out and hunt. There are more and more turkey hunters around here, but both properties are posted and I am the only one that is allowed to hunt on them. Think of it as my own hunting preserve.

Went for a nice long ride this afternoon with the Wife & only seen a dozen birds. They were too far from the road on a bad curve & it's on land I don't have permission to hunt on so we don't know what they were. Still a nice ride on a sunshiny day tho.

Yeah, I'm getting psyched. The double T season is right around the corner, trout/turkey. I too have a license to kill in both oHIo and WV.
