Tomorrow AM at 6:13 I will be out testing my brand spankin new rain gear in downpours while acting like I'm turkey hunting.

you are a more devoted hunter than I am. I think I will wait till Tuesday or Wednesday and not sit in the rain. That is the advantage of being retired - it is always the weekend or your day off.

Had one coming in right away This AM!
Then we got cut off by another hunter that chose to use a hawk scream...an owl hoot and a gobble all in about 30 sec.

I coulda killed that bird but as it ran away from the Idiot someone else shot him...... Public ground in Oh. Yuk!

I got low and got outta there! After leaving my good mornings to the idiot!

Using a gobble call in the woods is asking to get shot. I rarely use that call. That idiot will find out the hard way.

Sorry for the bad luck, Al. That's what ya gotta put up with on public ground. You'll get him next time.

Well I got me a bird yesterday AM!!!!

I was running along just minding my own business on a 55MPH road here & just caught a flash of red to my left. I looked in the mirrors & didn't see anything tumbling on the road or feathers flying so I just figured the little birdie made is safely across in front of me.

But to my surprise later on I found my bird.

Hang in there Scott!! I seen 2 small Jakes & a big Jake this AM. The big one even gave me a courtesy goble as he was moving thru.

They were all in a No Hunting Zone on public land.

1st gobble this AM was at 5:49. Last gobble was at 8:31AM. 1st shot was at 8:07AM & the end of the turkey war was 10:33AM!!

One person emptied his shotgun,, 3rds,, then a couple minutes later I heard him fire 3 more shots as he chased it thru the woods.

It's a damn bird. Just take your time & AIM!! One other hunter emptied his shotgun as well. The rest were single shot efforts.

There was a buttload of triple gobbles this AM. I was 100yds from one & every time he gobbled the one that was about 400yds out would gobble & vice versa. They were cutting each other off. It was really cool. The 400yd bird was waaaaaaaaay out of bounds for me. The 100yd bird was on private property I don't have permission to hunt so I gave myself about 30yds of cushion on the public land I was on. I was on the end of the ridge & he gobbled away from me. As best I can figure there were 7-8 birds gobbling in 5 different spots. There weren't any shots fired from one location but the other 4 got shot up purdy good. I'm thinking 4 or 5 went down this AM.

I didn't get to join the firing fracas today but it sure was great hearing all those birds gobbling.
